Meet Elizabeth
Elizabeth is from Florida and was raised in a military family across Florida, Maryland, and California. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010 while supporting herself as a server through school. She worked in administrative roles in the medical, nonprofit, and insurance industries before joining JetBlue in 2015. She moved to New York for the job and was based in JFK for several years before moving to Maine (NY cost of living, anyone?) and is now based in Boston. She balances her Union work and flying with her passions — reading, road-tripping, hiking in national parks, singing and playing piano, enjoying good food, and spending time with her partner, sisters, nieces, and friends.
A Flight Attendant first and foremost, Elizabeth has lived the same challenges Members face — commutes, quality-of-life concerns, exhausting pairings — and she brings those frontline experiences to the Board table. Her sharp memory, eye for detail, and commitment to transparency have helped refine Local operations, improve communication, and strengthen Member engagement.
Elizabeth’s path to Union leadership began in 2018, after two friends suffered serious fume events. She founded a support group for affected crew, joined the TWU Ambassador Program, and helped lead contract education efforts until the ratification of TA2 in 2021. That commitment to advocacy led her to become TWU Local 579’s first Recording Secretary.
Elizabeth has been the TWU Local 579 Recording Secretary since the Local’s founding in 2022—and she’s running for re-election to keep fighting for Members with the same diligence, accountability, and heart she’s brought to the role from day one.
When Elizabeth took office, the Inflight Seniority List was in disarray, with dozens of people listed who no longer worked here. She established the Seniority List Protest process, empowering Members to get involved and ensuring the list’s accuracy. Her persistence paid off in 2024, when her advocacy helped secure a $300,000 backpay payout for Members who had been underpaid on their anniversary month.
Elizabeth manages the Member database, oversees official records, takes and maintains Meeting Minutes, and helps ensure that important Board and Committee communications reach the Membership. She’s worked side-by-side with other Locals to learn best practices, built processes to track who’s coming and going from Inflight, and meets regularly with management to address issues before they escalate to grievances. She’s also a voting Board member who brings reason, logic, and empathy to every decision, advocating for Members’ interests on a wide range of issues.
Elizabeth is running for re-election because she believes in building on the foundation she’s helped create, continuing to fight for fair treatment, better quality of life, and a stronger, united TWU Local 579 representing 6,500 JetBlue Flight Attendants.
